Having never really done a tour of any kind in the past, I was surprised at how organic everything felt. There was always an opportunity to detour, try new food, check out cultural things, relax, be lazy, etc. but somehow we still achieved all our goals. Having the opportunity to do some pretty hard climbing was great.

★ Heightened confidence and fun on new climbs.
★ Deeper connections within the climbing community.
After a refreshing start with breakfast and yoga, delve into new climbing routes at different crags with your new friends. By now you’re getting comfortable with the rock type and climbing with confidence and we will snap some sweet photos of you in action to show off to your buddies at home. As the sun sets and everyone gathers back at the lodge with a cold beverage to celebrate the day, you really notice the warmth of Colombian hospitality… Everybody is happy and smiling! Dinner is extra tasty and satisfying surrounded by friends and you fall asleep with both heart and belly full.
★ Climbing challenges that test and reward.
★ Scenic journey to San Gil with stunning canyon views.
★ Discover a charming Colombian city and casual nightlife.
Now that your morning routine is dialled and you’ve developed a tick list of exciting climbs to tackle, rope up and go for it! We climb for a half day and then pack up for a side-trip to San Gil for a different type of adrenaline, a thrilling run down the famous Rio Suarez! After checking into a local hotel your group strolls downtown for dinner and drinks in this lively semi-tropical city. The central plaza features huge trees with flaring buttress roots and the water fountain is always lit up with cool lighting at night, making it a chill place to gather for a cold beer and some people watching. It’s a positively charming place to wind down the day in preparation for tomorrow’s epic rafting adventure.
★ Exhilarating rafting on Rio Suarez.
★ Authentic culinary experience and nightlife.
After your morning coffee and breakfast, don your sporty clothes/swimsuit to head out rafting. Load up in the van and feel your excitement building as you near the put-in for the thrilling Rio Suarez Class V river run. You can count on the best guides in Colombia to provide quality equipment and safety training before steering you through huge crashing waves and frothing holes.
After an incredible descent down the Suarez, we will head back to San Gil to freshen up and have a casual night out. If you feel like mingling with the locals this is your best opportunity to loosen up your tongue and practice your Spanish.
*Schedule permitting, your rafting guides may host a private BBQ for our group back at the hotel – All proceeds from the burger feast help the guides travel and participate in international rafting competitions so it is a great way to give back to the guides and community!
★ Savour final climbs with panoramic views.
★ Celebrate your progress and deep feeling of belonging.
After breakfast, we will return to La Mojarra for a final day of climbing. Rather than driving the entire way back, take the shortcut! We invite you to cross the canyon and ride up the mountain on the Teleferico gondola! Don’t forget your camera 😊
Now that you’ve enjoyed an action packed side-trip and given your climbing muscles a rest, it’s time to get back on the attractive sandstone for one last session. You know that one beautiful line you didn’t get around too yet? Or the tricky move you’re fired up to try now that you’re rested… Whatever routes you choose today, everyone is stoked to rope up together and get sendy one last time. Take lots of photos, give many high fives, and make sure to slowly savour a quiet, present moment to yourself at the top of the route while gazing out across the valley one last time.
Relax and enjoy the ultimate leisurely breakfast and heartfelt farewells. Exchange contact information, share photos and video, and promise to meet up and climb together again at another awesome destination. Depart for Bucaramanga airport, carrying a heart full of memories and promises to climb together again.

The Colombia tour with South America Rocks was definitely a great experience! Normally organized tours is not my style of traveling so I was hesitant to sign up but I’m so happy I did. The climbing was excellent! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The whole trip was great. The rafting tour in San Gil on the Rio Suarez with Colombia Rafting was wild and exciting and we celebrated with the biggest burgers ever at Gringo Mike’s later that night. I had a great time working with Will on this South America Rocks climbing adventure.
I am a beginner climber, but I always felt included in the daily plans, and safe wherever we went climbing. I am a yoga teacher, so it was a real treat to start each day with a calming practice up in the yoga house, which looks out over the rocks and the canyon below with a million dollar view. San Gil rafting was also super cool. The guides at Colombia Rafting are very safety conscious.
